Science
quarter 1
What did I learn?
This quarter, we learned mostly about atoms and ions. We learned about the structure of atoms, bonds, atom configuration, arrangement of the periodic table, naming compounds, and others. Before we got to this topic, we also learned some about chromatography. We did a lab report for a chromatography experiment, and also a text about the atoms and ions.
Why was this my best work?
The best work would be the test. I got quite a good score, not as expected. The lab report was not good too, so it wouldn’t be my best work. I am very satisfied with the score I got for the test.
What did I do well?
I got a 5/6. I did learn just before the test because it was afterschool and we were having PHE where we have to watch the SMA soccer boys’ competition, so I studied while waiting. Although I must have gotten a 4/6, I got a bonus score. We all got the bonus point given by the teacher, probably because the scores doesn't satisfy her. But in the end, my score satisfies me.
How can I improve?
I was nervous before the test because I heard that the test was hard. I did study, but I can’t focus while I’m studying. It was last minute study, so I guess I can’t take all the information at once too. Next time I should try to not do anything in last minute because as we hurry the quality will keep getting worse.
How does this sample relate to global context?
Science this quarter would relate to the global context scientific and technical innovation. This quarter is all about chemistry.

Science this quarter would relate to the global context scientific and technical innovation. This quarter is all about chemistry.
Quarter 2What did I learn?
In science this quarter, we basically learned about plants. We learned about the parts of a plant, reproduction of a plant, artificial propagation, and also how materials go in and out of the plant. Why was this sample my best work? What did I do well? In learning about transport in plants, we did an experiment of diffusion and osmosis. I would chose the lab report as a sample of my best work because I do think that I actually put effort and also the experiment was fun. Although it smells, I really did enjoy the experiment. What can I improve? I can improve next time by increasing our teamwork. To be honest, our teamwork wasn’t really good so there was a lot of miscommunications that made me angry for some weird reasons. We also have to really be careful in every thing we do in the experiment, because even though overall it was fun, we made a lot of mistakes throughout the whole project. This is something to be improved next time. How does this sample relate to Global Context? (Orientation in Space and Time/Globalization and Sustainability) I think this sample relates more to Orientation in Space and Time because we reflect back on what we did in the experiment and draw conclusions in the lab report. |
