The Grade 7 of SPH Sentul City went to the factory of Jurnal Bogor newspaper. The 7th graders went there to know how to make the newspaper as the big project of the quarter is to make a newspaper from each subject’s article. We went there for only a short time, as we only have 2 period time. At the end, we took 3 periods. When we got there, we are separated to groups. 5 people went up to learn about the news factory, while the others wait. When they got back, they will tell us about what they learned before. Then we all went to the room where there’s the giant printing machine that is used to make te newspaper. The person will give us more information about the journalists’ job, and what is it like to be the person with the job as the person is a

journalist. He told us that it is hard to be a journalist when we have to do things in special way journalists does. We learned that we have to make ways of solving the problem when we face one. We have to search for complete information to put in the news article so it will be a good one. We have to have the very detailed information as detail as we can, even very little ones. We also have to have the deep thinking. For not forgetting the information,, we also have to collect as many as we can in th first 3 minutes. The process to make the article is to first interview a first-hand witness, then process the information then conclude it. After doing these things, then we can make one article. We have to interview so there will be no misunderstanding,

and the impact of the news is very important. We also have to be honest in making an article. The impact of the news is very important to consider that if something happens after we publish the news, it will be in danger. If in 3 days false news isn’t being complained from the person from the news himself or herself, the news must be true. Even when we said the truth after, people will say it is just a bluff people made. That is why we have to make clarification soon as we see the news. In a news article, WE have to include what, who, when, where, why, and how. As we have to get detailed information, it also have to be accurate and answering all these questions. And a last thing is that a news article should have a structure of what it is talking about.

Reflection
In the fieldtrip, I learned about how the article is processed from raw information to an article in the newspaper. I learned how the journalist works, what does he or she does as the journalist and what information are needed. Truthfully, I don’t really get so much information from the fieldtrip but only the job as the journalist of how they work and some rules to be a journalist. I don’t really listen to the speaker as he talks a little soft then big voice and soft voice and all over again. I can’t really listen well. So next time when there’s a speaker, I have to listen carefully and take notes of what is the speaker talking about so I can get as many information as the others do.
