What did I learn?
This quarter in visual arts we learn about observational drawing and watercolor. We did these in class. We created several drawings from observational and some of them are colored in with watercolor.
Why was this my best work?
The best work would be my coffee blender artwork. It was the very first thing we drew and the very first thing we colored. But, I got quite a good score with a good score of the evaluation too.
What did I do well?
I did well in coloring the light source in the work. We could easily detect the light source by looking at the work I drew. It was hard shading and highlighting the metal material.
How can I improve?
I can improve by drawing the detailed parts of this coffee blender. I also have to use more water in the coloring because the coloring in this artwork is just too sharp. I also have to use more colors in the works next time because in this artwork there are not many variants of the colors.
How does this sample relate to global context?
The sample would relate to the global context personal and cultural expression as the works are created on something that we express on the paper.

Quarter 2What did I learn?
In Visual Arts this quarter, we learned about realistic drawing. We started the quarter by drawing the face (and shoulders) of a mannequin. After that, we continued to try real faces, step-by-step following a guide. We also learned to draw different expressions, which is the next exercise. We also chose a teacher to draw and in the end drew 2 pastel drawing of the teacher. Why was this sample my best work? What did I do well? |
I’'d choose the last pastel work as my best work in this digiport. I think I portrayed the character well although the face doesn't look as much as the teacher is, but I think I did well enough.
What can I improve?
I can still improve by practicing more in drawing specific traits of a face. In this work, I failed at that, but I can also see my improvement of the pastel coloring form the first one, and how the colors are nicer than the first one too.
How does this sample relate to Global Context? (Orientation in Space and Time/Globalization and Sustainability)
This sample relates to Orientation in Space and Time because we also have to reflect back on our things and relationships with teacher to actually see the character portrayal and to think and design the composition of the last work to successfully portray the character of the teacher
What can I improve?
